About Us

An Independent Force for Global Sustainable Development

Global Sustainable Development Foundation (GSDF) is an independent, neutral, non-religious, non-partisan and non-profit international organization working within the United Nations sustainable development system.

Our Background

Why GSDF Was Founded

In 2015, all 193 UN Member States adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, establishing 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) across the five dimensions of People, Prosperity, Planet, Peace and Partnership — a unified roadmap for ending poverty, inequality, ecological degradation and public-health crises.

As the 2030 deadline approaches, global progress faces mounting headwinds: frequent climate disasters, a sluggish world economy, continuing regional conflicts and a widening development gap. Many SDG indicators are advancing far more slowly than planned.

Under the spirit of Article 71 of the Charter of the United Nations and ECOSOC Resolution 1996/31, non-governmental organizations are a key third force in global sustainable governance — linking governments, business, academia and civil society across borders. GSDF was founded in this context as an independent, neutral civil-society institution embedded in the UN sustainable development system.

About Us

Legal Status & Compliance

Lawful Registration

GSDF was registered as a non-profit organization in Colorado, USA on May 11, 2026, with full legal personality, independent finances and standardized internal governance, and is legally capable of operating public-welfare projects and international activities worldwide.

Listed Within the UN System

The Foundation has completed review and registration with the NGO Branch of the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) and is included in the official roster of civil society organizations, qualifying it to participate in relevant UN sustainable development conferences, working groups and policy consultations.

Governance Independence

Our funding comes from global public donations and dedicated international green-cooperation funds. No single government or corporation holds control or directional influence; all projects, forums and research remain neutral and free of geopolitical or commercial pressure.

About Us

Our Mission

To advance global sustainable development and jointly build a better future for humanity — implementing the UN 2030 Agenda, balancing economic growth, social equity and ecological protection, and focusing on global poverty reduction, gender equality, carbon neutrality, ocean conservation, sustainable villages and peaceful development.

About Us

Our Vision

A new pattern of global sustainable development where everyone is equal, all life coexists and prosperity endures — where development outcomes reach everyone regardless of country, ethnicity, gender or class, and where humanity, society and nature thrive in harmony for generations to come.

About Us

Five Core Values

Leave no one behind

Equity & Inclusion

We heed the development needs of low-income countries, rural communities, women, youth, persons with disabilities and indigenous peoples, and work to remove barriers of geography, class and gender.

Hold the Earth’s ecological bottom line

Green Coexistence

Rooted in the Paris Agreement, we promote low-carbon, zero-carbon and circular models that respect, accommodate and protect nature.

Unite global cross-sector strength

Win-Win Cooperation

Practicing SDG 17, we bring together governments, businesses, academia and civil society to tackle challenges no country can solve alone.

Empower long-term impact

Pragmatic Innovation

Driven by technological, industrial and governance innovation, we favor field research, pilot projects and standards over slogans.

Build our common future

Responsibility

We actively fulfill the social responsibility of an international NGO, contributing front-line experience to global consultations and policy recommendations.

About Us

Governance Structure

GSDF operates a modern non-profit governance system of separated and mutually balancing powers, modeled on recognized international NGO standards — clear mandates, compliance and transparency.

Highest decision-making body

Board of Directors

Composed of former officials, senior diplomats, Nobel laureates, leading entrepreneurs and sustainability experts, it sets strategy, annual plans, major international projects and top-level appointments.

Independent compliance oversight

Board of Supervisors

Fully independent from the Board and the executive team, it audits project funding, reviews activity compliance, monitors disclosure to donors and issues public compliance reports.

Day-to-day executive body

Secretariat

Led by the Executive Secretary-General, it runs departments for administration and compliance, international cooperation, project operations, academic research, global communications, youth development and fund supervision.

About Us

Operating Principles

Neutrality & Independence

No activity, study or project is attached to or biased toward any country, party or commercial entity.

Transparency & Compliance

Funding sources, donation flows, project spending and major partnerships are disclosed regularly and open to supervision.

Human Rights First

All work follows the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the UN sustainable development human-rights framework, with zero tolerance for discrimination.

Pragmatic Delivery

Advocacy, research and forums must land in real projects with measurable sustainable development results.

Diversity & Inclusion

Partners of all civilizations, countries, ethnicities, genders and classes are welcome; developing countries and vulnerable groups enjoy equal voice.
